Birth Certificate with Nationality Indication

In Georgia, the birth certificate does not include the nationality of the newborn. Similarly, the nationality of the parents is not mentioned there.

However, clients often request information about nationality from the Civil Registry Office or the House of Justice in Georgia. In such cases, our agency offers birth certificates where nationality will be indicated.

What are these certificates needed for? For example, such documents are often requested for obtaining citizenship (e.g., in Greece, Israel, and others).

You will need to provide a power of attorney to our representative, specifying that you need to obtain such a certificate (certificate of nationality).

It should be noted that even if your old birth certificate or the death certificate of your parent, grandmother, or grandfather indicates nationality, it does not necessarily mean that such information is available in the Civil Registry Archives or in the House of Justice and recorded in archival books.

There are cases where there is no information about nationality in archival books. In such cases, alternative approaches may be needed, such as proving nationality through court or through grandparents along the descending line.
