Nostrification (Validation, Recognition) of Diplomas and Certificates

What is Nostrification (Validation or Recognition)

Nostrification is the process of recognizing educational or qualification documents issued in one country by another country.

This process is usually necessary for obtaining the right to work or study in another country when documents obtained from a foreign educational institution are not automatically recognized in the country where you plan to use your qualifications or education.

The Validation Process

Steps in the Nostrification (Validation or Recognition) Process

  1. Obtaining copies and/or originals of educational documents that need to be nostrified. These documents usually include diplomas, exam results certificates, transcripts, and other documents verifying qualifications and education.
  2. Determining the competent authority that will handle the nostrification in accordance with the legislation of the country where you want to use your documents. Usually, this is the Ministry of Education or a special agency responsible for the nostrification of documents.
  3. Submitting an application for nostrification of documents to the competent authority. The application may require payment of fees and provision of additional documents, such as translations into the local language or documents proving work experience in the relevant field.
  4. Processing of the application and documents by the competent authority. Usually, this process can take several weeks or months, depending on the complexity and number of documents.
  5. Receiving a decision on the nostrification of documents. If your application is approved, you will receive confirmation of the nostrification of documents. If your application is rejected, you may be offered the opportunity to appeal the decision.
