Definition of a driver’s license

A driver’s license is an official document issued by the competent authorities of Georgia, which confirms the holder’s right to operate certain categories of vehicles within the territory of Georgia.

To replace a driver’s license, the following documents must be submitted to the service organization:
  1. Identity card;
  2. valid driver’s license;
  3. health certificate (form IV-100/a);
  4. Receipt confirming payment of the fee.
The reason for replacing a driver’s license may be:
  • Application by the holder of the driver’s license;
  • Issuance of a national driver’s license of a standard format based on a driver’s license issued by a foreign state;
  • Expiration of the driver’s license;
  • Unfit condition due to wear, damage affecting the appearance of the driver’s license (inability to read data or partial loss of part of the license);
  • Inaccuracies in the driver’s license;
  • Inaccuracies in the registration records reflected in the driver’s license registry;
  • Discrepancy between the data specified in the driver’s license and the registration records reflected in the driver’s license issuance registry;
  • Loss of the driver’s license;
  • Other circumstances defined by law
